The Queen Charlotte canna lily is a decorative plant originating from areas with a warm, tropical climate. Its characteristic features are brightly coloured clusters of flowers and large, decorative leaves. Presented variety produces bicolour inflorescences, in colours typical for the species - bright yellow and light red. The red petal centres harmonize wonderfully with the yellow borders, while the irregular spots and stripes only add to the overall charm. This colourful spectacle becomes even more pronounced thanks to the luscious green colour of the leaves. A mature, fully grown specimen of this plant reaches 100 to 120 centimetres in height. The flowering period begins in July. Plants systematically produce flowers until the first frost in autumn.

Queen Charlotte canna lily is full of exotic charm that will rejuvenate a garden or balcony. In order to let it enchant you, it needs a sunny position, sheltered from wind, and drafts. It requires a fertile, loosened soil, free of weeds and stones. Since it needs plenty of nutrients to grow well, it is worth adding compost to the soil before planting. Canna lilies must be watered in summer, as water shortage quickly affects their condition. To extend and intensify flowering, it is necessary to remove faded inflorescences.

In most of Europe, canna lily can only grow in summer. Low temperatures cause irreversible damage to the plant, so canna rhizomes must be dug out of the ground in autumn. After trimming the green parts store them in containers filled with moist peat. The temperature in rooms where you store canna lilies should not be higher than 10°C, but never below the freezing point. Plant rhizomes in pots in spring, forcing them until mid-May, when the seedlings can be safely moved outside.

Package contains 50 rhizome of the Queen Charlotte canna lily. Basic plant information and growing tips can be found on the label.
