Alumroot Rachel belongs to the colourful varieties, from which it stands out with crimson-brown colouring. Large, up to 40-centimetres-tall tufts that carry panicles of subtle, airy flowers, perfectly complement flowering plants. Alumroot leaves are small, shiny with a marbling on the surface, and come up in large numbers. Dentate edges of the leaf blades also contribute to the unique appearance of alumroot foliage. Alumroot colouring depends on the amount of light the plant receives. This plant would be paler at slightly shaded sites than the specimen developing in sunlight. Alumroot may flower from May to autumn. Gradually developing thin stalks with coral-red tiny flowers are merely an addition to the dense, dome-shaped tufts of colourful leaves. This undemanding, easy to grow perennial with decorative leaves offers great company for other plants that do not require to much sunlight. It fits onto a flower bed and into a plant grouping. You can create living colourful mosaic out of them by simply combining a few of differently coloured varieties.

Alumroot does not have any special growing requirements and is easy to care for. To develop properly, it needs a permeable, nutritious, and moist soil. The site should be sunny or partially shady, yet always sheltered from wind. Alumroot requires frequent watering during drought. Feed plants that grow in the ground with a dab of compost in spring. You should regularly fertilize plants that you grow in pots, though. We recommend covering alumroots before harsh, snowless winter, particularly its woody overground roots. Alumroots are short-lived perennials that you should rejuvenate every few years by dividing the tufts.

Each package contains one first-choice seedling of the Rachel alumroot. Essential plant facts and growing instructions were printed on the package label.
