A birdhouse mounted on a tree or under a roof of a building offers perfect shelter for tits, tree sparrows and flycatchers. It will attract to your garden these flying visitors that will help you to get rid of plant-damaging pests in a natural, eco-friendly way. It is definitely recommended to welcome birds in your garden. A solid, well designed nest box will definitely appeal to birds, provided you hang it in the right spot, so its inhabitants would feel safe in it. Choose a less frequented, sheltered garden corner and mount the birdhouse in a place that is sheltered from strong wind gusts, heavy rain and that is not exposed to direct sunlight. Mount the nest box at least 1 m high, so it is out of reach of the predators. Should the birds like the place, they are likely to nest in the birdhouse in spring already.

Our nest box has been manufactured of 2-cm thick wood planks. The entry hole measures 33 mm in diameter and makes it ideal for such species as a great tit, tree sparrow, sparrow, European pied flycatcher, Eurasian blue tit, common redstart and would less frequently be inhabited by the coal tit and crested tit. This nest box is equipped with an opening front pane, locked with a hook, what makes cleaning it way easier. It also has two built-in fastening rails that can be mounted on a tree or other sheltered spot with nails or wood screws.
