The Violet Beauty Bossier's glory-of-the-snow is a small bulbous plant that produces marvellous opalescent star shaped flowers. This undemanding species feels good in the Central European climate what results in rapid spreading of its tufts. The Violet Beauty flowers take on a purplish blue colour with a hint of pink. This unique colouring is additionally underscored by the white eyes in the middle of each flower. A pair of long grass-like leaves grows from each bulb. A naked stalk with several blooms on top appears between the leaves. The flowering period is long and may last several weeks and usually falls on March and April.
