Asters enjoy high standing in the garden hierarchy. Currently they lost some ground to new species introduced into gardens - what means a loss to our landscape. Rich colour palette and different blooming periods are only two of many advantages of these plants. Everyone will find their own favourite among the multitude of varieties with different sizes and bloom shapes. "Teisa Stars" dwarf chinese aster seeds are a newcomer to our offer. We encourage you to give them a try.

Aster are annual flowering plants. Tender bushes with branched stems grow up to 30 cm tall. Thick and compact habit make them perfectly suitable for lower border floors. These plants sprout narrow or oval leaves with frayed edges. "Teisa Stars" dwarf chinese asters belong to needle petal varieties. Small blooms reaching 4 cm in diameter are very ornamental. Long, tubular petals resemble stars, hence the name of the plant, coming from the Greek word astra, meaning star. Myriads of flowers cover the bushes and cause them to look like flower balls. Asters come in different shades of white, red, pink, purple and scarlet. Dwarf chinese asters of the "Teisa Stars" variety are original, eye-catching seasonal flowers.

Dwarf asters count among plants that should be introduced in our gardens. Their versatility beats the competition by a few lengths. They are made for the fronts of low borders and flower beds, as well for filling edgings. Low height of this presented variety allows it to brighten up a rock garden. Dwarf asters can also be used in container, box, pot and bowl arrangments that will decorate a balcony or terrace. Rural-style and English gardens will gain even more charm with the addition of multi-coloured asters. One of the more original ideas would be creating a carpet bedding with them. Asters are also great cut flowers.

Asters can be grown from seedlings or from direct sow. These plants should be placed to permanent locations after the "ice saints". They require sunny sites with fertile, moderately moist soils. These in general undemanding plants are recommended for garden novices and busy people.

Exclusion of the middlemen from the whole process not only makes it possible for us to avoid sending out-of-date seeds that might have been lying too long on a warehouse shelf, but also ensures the most attractive price for top quality products.

The quality control process

All our seeds must pass a four-stage quality control process.

Stage one begins with a careful selection of the suppliers. Than we proceed with controlling their crops, foreign producers are not excluded from the quality control process. Plants are checked at every stage of their development: when they start to grow, during blooming and when they start bearing fruit (seeds). At this stage the most important thing is to ensure proper spacing of the plants. Thanks to that obtaining the desired morphological characteristics of each particular species or variety, such as colour, height and shape, can be ensured.

Stage two consists of a detailed verification tests in laboratory conditions. With the use of the highest quality equipment by the highly qualified staff, our suppliers perform more than 30 000 quality checks annually. The seeds that do not meet our requirements are subject to technological refining processes, including drying, cleaning, upgrading and testing again.

Stage three starts with sowing seeds in selected control plots. That way we obtain valuable, exact information concerning their germination that must be maintained at an appropriate level. Simultaneously, the varietal identity of each species is checked at this stage.

Stage four takes place in our warehouses and consists of eliminating seeds that have been stored for too long on our shelves and replacing them with new batches. Each package is stamped with a unique batch number and also with the sow-by-date.

All four stages combined allow us to state with confidence that the seeds we deliver comply with the highest standards and have completed all required control stages with flying colours.
