The crown imperial is a wonderful bulbous perennial that strikes with its beauty. Many consider it one of the most attractive spring plants. We proudly present a special crown imperial variety - 'Striped Beauty'. Its ornamental value is indisputable. This noble beauty develops dark yellow bell shaped flowers with red venation. The centre of each of the flower cup is additionally adorned with a stamen and anthers. This impressive wreath of flowers sits atop a leafless stalk that takes on a contrasting brown colour. The leaves are dense, bright green and lanceolate. The whole 'Striped Beauty' crown imperial is simply unmatched when it comes to its natural beauty. It will introduce style and exotic charm to every garden in which it is planted.

This species is recommended for sunny situation, yet the dispersed light will not negatively influence the development of the plants. Make sure, though, that the place is sheltered from the wind. Crown imperials do not like strong wind drafts. They will tolerate permeable, gravel soils. They do not like excess humidity and should be watered only during summer droughts. Crown imperials should be planted relatively deep, at least 20 centimetres under the surface. The large, distinctly smelling bulbs have to be planted the cavity up - this is a remnant of the thick stem. The maintenance of crown imperials is easy and does not pose any problems.

The plant offered here is a highly ornamental seasonal species. We recommend to plant it on flower beds among other plants that will take the stage in summer. Whether planted singly or in groups, crown imperials perfectly fit under not-too-dense trees and in arrangements on lawns. It is suited both for natural and formal plantings. It contrasts wonderfully with conifers and white meadowsweets. It forms charming partnerships with bedding plants. The 'Striped Beauty' enchants with its form and the unique warm colours.
