"Sremski" cucumber is commonly used for pickles and preserves. This vegetable contains vitamins, minerals and is an important source of basic compounds.
These tasty vegetables should be grown from direct sow to the permanent site. Sow cucumber seeds available in our garden store mid-May, when the seedlings will not be endangered by the last spring frosts anymore. Place 2-3 seeds per hole in rows 60 cm apart, leaving 40 cm distances between the holes. Another way is to spread rows 100 cm wide and plant cucumbers in 20 cm spacings. Seeds have been covered with a special coating, what ensures ideal germination conditions. This action also prevents emerging plants from attacks of soil pathogens. Cucumbers grow best and yield rich harvest on warm and sunny sites. It requires humous, permeable soil rich in nutrients and water.
