The 'Beauty of Apeldoorn' peony tulip delights with its exceptional bicolour flowers all May long. This magnificent variety grows 40 to 50 centimetres tall. It develops unbranched, erect stems that are tightly enveloped by lanceolate leaves. Double flowers, whose bottom petals are green and the upper ones bright yellow, sit atop those stems. The 'Beauty of Apeldoorn' can become a unique flower bed decoration, particularly when you plant it together with a contrastingly coloured dark pink 'Renown Unique' variety. The unfolded flowers of these tulips look just like peony buds.

The peony-shaped or ice cream tulips have standard requirements in regard to the site. They bloom most abundantly in the full sun, in nutrient-rich, humous, permeable and moderately moist soil. Plant it 15 centimetres deep in lighter soils and 12 centimetres deep in heavier soil. In order to fully expose the 'Beauty of Apeldoorn' we recommend to plant in larger groups, 12 x 12 centimetres apart. Plant the bulbs of this cultivar in September and October. Excavate tulip bulbs after the leaves have dried and store them in a dry, ventilated place or simply keep them at the same site on one place.
