The 'Robert Frost' Hosta is a hardy perennial that is perfectly suited for use as ground cover. It quickly adjusts to various conditions and does not require much care. Its exceptionally broad - over 100 cm in diameter - tufts are from spring on adorned with blue-green leaf blades with creamy-white edges. It transforms as soon as the summer arrives. The 'Robert Frost' Hosta changes its face like a chameleon. The central part of the leaf turns green and the edges pure white. From June to July the tufts shoot naked stems on which the purple trumpet-shaped flowers sit. They are gathered in loose clusters and constitute an additional ornament of the charming leaf rosettes. This variety looks great spread over a larger area, but it looks equally attractive planted singly on a lawn.

The attractive plantain lily leaves allow to use the plant in many different arrangements with other species. The huge diversity that they offer will also enable you to create a grouping of the varieties of this particular species. Hostas can differ in leaf shape, colour, texture and venation patterns. They harmonize well with annual plants, e.g. the long flowering begonia or the busy Lizzie (sultana). Hosta leaves that develop in spring offer great company for the bulb flowers. The composition with perennials that have similar cultivation requirements will solve the problem of the garden spots that are predominantly shady. The natural appearance of such arrangements is timeless and looks great at every time of the year.

The variety offered here is completely hardy. It prefers partially shady or shady sites. It thrives under the tree canopies were a large portion of sunlight is absorbed by the thick foliage. The mixture of sunlight and shade creates the optimal development conditions for these plants. Hostas like fertile humous soils that remains constantly moist. It should also be permeable and have a neutral reaction.

Hosta rhizomes can be planted all season long, but spring and summer from April to August are the optimal period. Put the root set circa 6 to 8 centimetres deep. These vigorous plants spread relatively quick.

The price quoted above is valid for one first choice Hosta rhizome of the presented variety. The bag with the root set is equipped with a leaflet that contains basic plant information and growing instructions.
