Globe Thistle is a perennial plant with the stems raised upwards and large leaves that produce spikes. This variety grows 70 to 180 centimetres in height, whereas its most characteristic aspect is the very unique and eye-catching flowers. These are globular, with a very characteristic structure, in the steel blue shade. With a flowering period from June to August, the Globe Thistle variety, with its beautiful flowers, is an excellent choice for low perennial beds as well as for dried flower arrangements.
Growing: sow the seeds in a seedbed from May to June. Plant out into a permanent position in 60x80cm spacings in September. This variety prefers permeable gravelly alkaline soils that are slightly moist. The plants love sunny positions.
