Lemon Basil is an annual plant with highly valued flavouring qualities; as a seasoning, it is highly suitable for salads, sauces, and cheese. Its characteristic lemon aroma makes it a delicious addition to fish dishes, seafood, and casseroles. Chewed, Lemon Basil leaves refresh your breath. This variety can be grown in pots all-year-round.
Growing: sow the seeds in covered pallet planters in early April or directly into a permanent position in May. The seeds germinate in 7 to 14 days at 20-25°C. Plant out into the soil in 30cm spacings in the second half of May, when there is no risk of frost. This variety can also be cultivated in pots or in balcony planters; the plants love sunny positions.
