Lovage is a perennial plant that grows up to two metres in height. Dried or fresh, it is a delicious seasoning plant; the portions of it used for seasoning are its leaves and rhizomes. The fresh leaves are ideal for soups, sauces and minced meat, whereas the dried rhizomes add a unique flavour to goulash, tripe, poultry, and mutton. Apart from spicing, Lovage is highly valued as a medicinal plant; it stimulates appetite and helps digestion.
