Microgreens - Endive (Chichorium intybus) - young leaves with exceptional taste have become widespread in cultivation and daily diets lately. Microgreens are tasty and healthy plants at an early development stage. Young plants contain more vitamins and minerals than the mature ones. Regular consumption of Microgreens brings similar benefits to eating sprouts, but they have higher nutritional value. In contrary to sprouts, they are grown in soil and harvested when they have developed a first pair of true leaves. Young endive leaves contain a significant amount of vitamin C and minerals. They have a distinct, slightly savoury taste and are a great complement to salads, sandwiches and eggs.
Microgreens available in our online store are very easy in cultivation. You may plant them at home and have them daily at your disposal. You will only need a shallow container or box filled with light, permeable soil. Disperse Microgreens seeds densely on the soil surface. Place them on a warm and sunny windowsill. The soil needs to remain moist, but not wet. Sprinkle the culture with water two times a day. After circa two to three weeks the first true leaves should appear, what marks the right time for cutting the endive leaves.
