Needle-petal aster "Impresja" (Callistephus chinensis) variety produces extraordinary inflorescences that look like if they would have been made of myriads of narrow needles. This plant grows 40 - 50 cm tall and develops bushy habit of strong, straight stems that end with large flowers. These develop gradually over the course of summer until the first autumn frosts. Original inflorescences that take on intense, blue-purple colour are bound to make an impression. You may use them as cut flowers, as they stay fresh in vases for a long time. These plants look great on sunny borders and flower beds accompanied by other summer flowers.
Aster seeds available in our store should be sown early in spring in a warm and bright room. This species may also be grown from direct sow onto the field and this activity should commence in May. These plants are sensitive to low temperatures, hence the seedlings should be planted outside only in the second half of May. Sunny site with a soil rich in water and nutrients provide the best possible conditions for needle petal aster cultivation.
