The oriental poppy "Forncett Summer" (Papaver orientale) counts among the exceptionally beautiful perennials. It spreads broadly, forming tufts of feathery leaves. It produces erect, sparsely leaved stems reaching 90 - 100 cm in height during blooming period. The "Forncett Summer" variety produces extremely large blooms that take on a salmon-pink colour and are deeply dentate at the edges. The blooming period lasts from May to June, sometimes even July. This species perfectly compliments sunny perennial borders. You may plant this species one by one, although they look much better in larger gropings.

Plant oriental poppies in spring on a sunny and warm site. This perennial prefers permeable, rather light, humous soils that are rich in humus. We encourage you to take up regular fertilizing with compost and a mineral, multi-ingredient fertilizer.
