Pasque flower is a charming spring perennial that grows from 20 to 30 centimetres tall. Silvery, felt-like hairs that cover youngest plants is characteristic for this species that becomes "naked" as it matures. Feathery, subtle, decorative leaves are gathered in a basal rosette. Flowers that appear in early spring usually completely cover the foliage. One large, cup-shaped, erect flower sits on hairy stalks. Pasque flower blooms from March to beginning of May. It produces flowers one after the other, one plant can develop several dozen of them during a single season. Bell-shaped flowers spread out in the sun. Pasque flower usually produces purple flowers, yet you can also meet white and crimson coloured varieties.
The early flowering pasque flower wonderfully decorates a flower bed or border. It makes a great figure in a rock garden, looks splendid in groups by a path or fence.
Sunlight, a sandy, light, permeable, lime soil with a neutral or alkaline reaction is what pasque flower needs to grow well. Well-rooted plants tolerate drought thanks to their deeply reaching and broadly spreading root system.
Flower colour within the presented mix is selected randomly.
