The 'Parade' pepper is a variety that develops narrow conical pointed berries, that are often referred to as Capia on the market. This pepper yields crops medium early. It is recommended to be cultivated in greenhouses, but it will also bring fruit in the open field in warmer regions. The fruit that turns from green to bright red as it matures is particularly well suited for pickling and making into preserves. They taste great pickled whole with aromatic herbs, alone or stuffed with creamy cheese. These peppers weigh 160 grams on average. The 'Parade' variety is highly resistant to the P0 strain of the tobacco mosaic. Consumers all across the world love this kind of peppers. Its nice shape and unique taste will help you diversify your home pepper and paprika cultures.

Pepper belongs to a group of exceptionally nutritional vegetables. It is also one of the multi-purpose vegetables as it tastes great in any given form. Please take note of the high vitamin C content, five times higher than in lemons. Flesh of fresh bell peppers contains, apart from vitamin C, vitamins A, PP, E and a variety of B vitamins, as well as numerous elements. The regular consumption of peppers improves body resistance and beneficially affects the digestive system. It can be used in cancer prevention, mildens headaches and improves focus. It also lowers blood pressure and acts as an anti-inflammatory agent.

Pepper is a vegetable that can be grown exclusively from seedlings in the majority of Central European countries. No matter if you wish to grow peppers in the open field or in greenhouses, you have to produce seedlings first. Pepper requires high temperatures, high air and soil humidity. It prefers soil with a neutral reaction that are rich in nutrients and permeable. This warm climate plant requires a site that would be sheltered from wind. Staking is recommended in order to protect the bushes from strong wind and heavy rainfall.

Sow seeds early in spring, in March, onto seeding trays. Place the trays in a sunny, warm situation. As soon as the plants develop 2 to 4 leaves, prick them out into individual pots. The seedlings can be transplanted after 9 to 10 weeks, mid-May to greenhouses and end of the month onto open field. The recommended spacings between the plants is 40 to 60 x 30 to 40 centimetres. Watering, fertilization, trimming, soil aeration and weeding belong to the typical maintenance measures in cultivation of peppers.

The quality control process

All our seeds must pass a four-stage quality control process.

Stage one begins with a careful selection of the suppliers. Than we proceed with controlling their crops, foreign producers are not excluded from the quality control process. Plants are checked at every stage of their development: when they start to grow, during blooming and when they start bearing fruit (seeds). At this stage the most important thing is to ensure proper spacing of the plants. Thanks to that obtaining the desired morphological characteristics of each particular species or variety, such as colour, height and shape, can be ensured.

Stage two consists of a detailed verification tests in laboratory conditions. With the use of the highest quality equipment by the highly qualified staff, our suppliers perform more than 30 000 quality checks annually. The seeds that do not meet our requirements are subject to technological refining processes, including drying, cleaning, upgrading and testing again.

Stage three starts with sowing seeds in selected control plots. That way we obtain valuable, exact information concerning their germination that must be maintained at an appropriate level. Simultaneously, the varietal identity of each species is checked at this stage.

Stage four takes place in our warehouses and consists of eliminating seeds that have been stored for too long on our shelves and replacing them with new batches. Each package is stamped with a unique batch number and also with the sow-by-date.

All four stages combined allow us to state with confidence that the seeds we deliver comply with the highest standards and have completed all required control stages with flying colours.
