Sage is a perennial plant that grows around 60 centimetres in height. This variety can be used as a delicious seasoning or as a valuable medicinal plant. As a seasoning, it is highly recommended for soups, sauces or meats. Sage is predominantly used as a medicinal plant though, particularly as an anti-inflammatory agent. Used in the form of an infusion, it is a remedy for oral cavity problems.
Growing: sow the seeds in covered planter boxes in April or directly into the soil in May. The seeds germinate in around three weeks at 18-20°C. Plant out into a permanent position in 30x40cm spacings when the plants have developed 2 to 3 pairs of leaves.
