The Jurek potato is a variety of culinary potatoes that is harvested medium early. The variety owes its growing fame to its outstanding characteristics and excellent taste. Compact, medium-tall plants bring high yield even in changing weather conditions and when facing water shortages. Its tubers develop deeper than other varieties and are round-oval, covered with a yellow skin with shallow eyes, which greatly facilitates peeling. The waste percentage remains low that way. The light yellow flesh only gains on taste during long-term storage, as this variety was bred especially for that purpose. Jurek variety stands out with high resistance to diseases and easy cultivation, because it belongs to fairly undemanding varieties. The number of consumers choosing this potato grows every year. Excellent taste even in late spring and versatility are the features responsible for the growing popularity of the variety. Jurek potatoes are especially recommended for traditional preparation: boiling, steaming, mashing, and roasting. They also provide great material for pancakes and dumplings.

Mid-early potatoes can be planted in the first half of April, to be harvested between July and August. These certified seed potatoes, available here in our store, are recommended for planting in fertile, loose soil, at a sunny place. Dig out 8-to-15-centimetre deep grooves, put seed potatoes 20 to 40 centimetres apart, and cover with soil. Until the shoots appear, potatoes do not need much watering. Increase watering volume and rate during the tuber formation phase. Hilling and fertilization increases potato yield and improves its quality.
