The Soulmate swamp milkweed is rather unknown in gardens and that is a pity. The unique, tremendous perennial grows to a substantial size. A dense tuft of stiff, forking stems reaches height of 90 to 100 centimetres and grows 60 to 80 centimetres broad. This plant develops a rather regular shape that can be easily incorporated into a garden. Foliage of the presented plant consists of lanceolate, alternate, pointed leaf blades. The flowers take on light pink colour with a paler centre. They are gathered in small, semi-circular umbels. They bloom in July and August. Fruit in form of follicles that resemble a swallow, or a parrot attract attention. They are filled with seeds that are attached to silver-white hairs which lets the wind distribute them. The perennial swamp milkweed adorns borders and natural plantings. The exceptional, stunning swamp milkweed provides beautiful and fragrant cut flowers. Stems with fruit are used in decorations too. You can use dense tufts to cover a terrace or separate various areas of the garden.

Swamp milkweed likes sunny and warm sites. According to its soil requirements, find a fertile, humous, and moist ground. This plant can even grow on wetlands, next to ponds. Swamp milkweed grows well in standard garden soil. It constitutes a great addition to the traditional borders.
