Winter daffodil is an unique perennial that is perfect for cultivation on sunny borders. Due to its habit and flower shape it is often called yellow autumn crocus. It displays its ornamental value and charm early in autumn, in September and October. Then it develops bright, yellow funnel–shaped flowers. They emerge surrounded by the dark green, tiny, spiky leaves. The whole plant measures 10–20 cm, so it is rather low growing, but it immediately attracts attention with the colour of its blooms.

Autumn daffodil, as this plant is also called, should be planted at the end of summer / beginning of autumn on sunny or partially shady sites. It is rather undemanding in regard to the soil type, but it would develop best in permeable, not too dry earth that is rich in humus. Bulbs should be placed in groups, a few each, 7 – 15 cm deep in the ground. The plants that grow from them would look great in company of the Kotschy’s crocuses on borders, in rock gardens or lawns. They are totally frost resistant and do not need to be excavated before the winter.

One package contains 20 bulbs sized 10/12 cm. Bulbs offered in our store were produced in the Netherlands.
