The Stuttgart canna lily is a unique collector's item that has been produced by German growers. Its orange exotic flowers attract attention the same way as the striped, large leaves. This plant offers an unmatched colour show that will turn eyes of all visitors to the garden or terrace on it. A distinctly looking, due to its habit and colours, canna continuously produces a plant show that lasts from early summer to autumn. Charming flowers increase plant's attractivity in the summer. They contrast with the patterned leaves, creating a multidimensional mixture of colours and forms. Canna lily looks best in a larger group or in a row. Presented perennial grows 100 to 150 centimetres tall depending on the weather in the given season. The Stuttgart variety is sterile or almost sterile. This feature prevents it from producing seeds. Canna that originates from warm regions of the world, is a perennial, provided you dig out is rhizomes in autumn. Since this plant is sensitive to low temperatures, plant them only mid-May. You can start earlier with forcing seedlings in pots. Plant them end of February, beginning of March. Containers should be held in bright space and therefore prepare the plants for living outside. Canna should grow in a sunny and sheltered site. It needs a fertile, loosened yet constantly moderately moist.
