Tall fescue "Tomahawk" - lawn variety, is proven, renown grass cultivar that shows excellent vigour even when facing unfavourable conditions. This is a bunchgrass variety, developing broader leaves than typical lawn grasses. It stands out with low height and vivid, dark green colour. What distinguishes it finally from other grass species is a broad and deeply reaching root system. This feature makes it extremely durable to drought and high temperatures. It develops tremendously during hot summer days, maintaining its bright colour. It has low nutritional requirements and may be sown on meagre, light and sandy soils. "Tomahawk" tall fescue tolerates a wide range of soil reaction and survives periodical waterlogging. Thanks to numerous stolons it also shows high sodding capabilities. Turf made of that grass species is exceptionally durable and may therefore be used on football fields, other sporting grounds, at playgrounds and recreational areas. No other grass could match it in a home garden lawn, where it will handle children play and treading by dogs well. It is also considered a valuable variety for covering industrial wastelands, embankments, roadsides, parking lots and green public spaces.
