The "Topmix Purple" dahlia is a charming variety that develops single flowers that abundantly cover the plants. Their dark petals contrast with golden centres that magnificently underscore the charm of the plant. Each flower consists of 8 to 10 large and broad petals that surround the disc flowers in the middle. Dahlias enjoy high popularity and belong to the most beautiful garden plants. The long flowering period and its abundance prevent dahlias from falling from grace. The charming blooms of the "Topmix Purple" variety enchant flower bed foregrounds and path edgings. They also look great in pots. Dwarf dahlias - this group encompasses varieties that grow 25 to 35 centimetres tall and the "Topmix Purple" offered here - like to company of their relatives that develop flowers in other colours. They would also harmonize well with plants that permanently occupy your flower bed or lawn. Their feathery leaves provide a wonderful background for the vividly coloured flowers. The first buds open in June to present their magnificent decorative potential in July and August. They reliably produce new flowers and only an autumn frost can hinder their activity.

Dahlias should be planted on sunny sites that are also sheltered from winds. Set the individual plants 20 to 50 centimetres apart. Place their tuberous roots about 5 centimetres deep, from April to June.  Dahlias thrive in sandy-loam, fertile and permeable soil. They require watering during periods of drought. Do not forget to remove wilted flowers.  Dahlias react well to fertilization with manure, compost and mineral fertilizers.

Dahlia tubers cannot winter in the ground and need to be excavated after the first frost in autumn. Cut the stems first and then gently dig out the roots. Place them in open boxes that should be kept in a dry room with a stable temperature within the 2 to 4°C range. You can cover the rootstocks with peat to ensure better storage conditions. If you notice a significant drop in firmness and wrinkles on the surface of the roots, you may wet them sparsely with water.

Each package contains 1 bulb of the "Topmix Purple" dahlia of premium quality. Basic plant growing instructions were printed on the package label.
