The Topmix Salmon dahlia belongs to the lowest growing varieties of its species. It blooms long and abundantly and proves to be a wonderful plant for filling pots and planters, as well as growing on edgings. A Topmix Salmon dahlia  delights with its simplicity and a subtle charm.  It single flowers consist of seven to ten oval petals and convex yellow centres that look wonderful at the background of rich foliage. A dahlia of the Topmix series develops an attractive bushy appearance and therefore looks great in compact borders and on multicolour ornamental lawns. Dwarf dahlias, those who grow up to 35 centimetres tall, adorn the garden in the second half of summer. The are usually accompanied by annuals, as the perennial flowers would have its flowering period behind them already.

Dahlias, irrespective of their size, should be grown in permeable soil that stays moderately moist at all times and is rich in nutrients. Take care of regular fertilizing and watering at sites where the soils are of lesser quality. You can feed the soil with compost or a slow-release multicomponent fertilizer right before planting. Avoid nitrate fertilizers that ensure abundant growth of the tufts but would not stimulate plants to produce flowers. To stimulate dahlia bushes to abundant and long lasting blooming, it is recommended to remove wilted flowers so the plant would not lose strength on producing seeds.

Dahlia will adorn your garden for years to come if you dig out its frost sensitive rootstock after the end of each season. Roughly cleaned and dried dahlia tubers should be stored in a dry, ventilated room that is well protected from frost. Storing dahlia rootstock in baskets or airy boxes, layered with peat or sawdust, proves to be most convenient. Plant the rootstock again after the last frost in spring.

Each package contains 1 piece of premium quality rootstock of the Topmix Salmon dahlia. Basic plant growing instructions can be found on the package.
