The Hy Trio cactus dahlia is like a sparkling soft drink thanks to its dotted flowers. The irregularly spread smudges of pink on the white background give flowers of the presented variety a truly unique appearance. Each of them is a surprise. The unusual colour combination looks well both in the garden and in a bouquet. Huge flowers that measure up to 15 centimetres in diameter will delight you with a shade of purple when displayed in a vase. The Hy Trio dahlia is like a magician that rules with the colour of its narrowing petals. It grows tall enough to look good in almost every garden corner - a modest spot at a fence or pergola will suit the plant fine. It brings its substantial flowering capacity on display from June onwards. It can quickly become an important part of a flower bed or a lawn, a real head turner that will attract attention of every garden or allotment visitor. It cannot be ignored when planted with other dahlia varieties with lime yellow or dark purple flowers.

Growing dahlias is easy. Excavating rootstock before the winter is the only more cumbersome part. Dahlia should be planted on sunny or only partially shaded situations. The appropriate exposition to sunlight is crucial for the healthy development and bright, saturated colour of the flowers. Due to the relatively substantial height and the frailty of the stems, we do not recommend growing dahlia on windy spots. Staking of the flower-carrying stems might be necessary. Dahlia requires neutral or slightly acidic soil that is rich in nutrients, permeable, and constantly moist. Plant dahlias every 50 to 60 centimetres. Put the tuberous roots about 5 to 10 centimetres deep from April to June.  Dahlia requires watering during extended periods of drought. Its wilted flowers should be removed.  Dahlia reacts well to fertilization with manure, compost, and mineral fertilizers.

Dahlia roots stocks cannot winter in the ground and must be dug out in autumn. Trim the stem first and then gently excavate the rootstock. Store the rootstocks in ventilated open boxes in a dry place where the temperature is stabilized between 2 and 4?C. Cover the rootstock with sand or peat for even safer storage. If you detect loss of firmness or wrinkled surface on the rootstocks, you can moisten them slightly.

A single package contains 10 pieces of the Hy Trio dahlia rootstock of premium quality. Basic plant growing instructions can be found on the package.
