The 'Muscarimi' grape hyacinth belongs to the distinctly scented variety of this species. It is sometimes called musk grape hyacinth. You will be able to smell its sweet, vanilla aroma during the peak of the flowering period. The scent becomes the most distinct on warm days. This grape hyacinth is also rich in nectar, what makes it popular among the pollinating insects. Its flowers stand out with a slightly looser build than the majority of the popular varieties. Their colour also makes them unique - it gradually changes from purple blue to creamy white as they mature. The bicolour, heavenly scented flower clusters are recommended for tiny bouquets.

Tufts of the narrow basal leaves are juicy green and provide an excellent setting for the uniquely shaped flowers. The plants that sprout from small bulbs that are covered with a shiny skin, grow 15 to 25 centimetres tall. The presented grape hyacinth variety is perfectly suited for low borders and rock gardens. It also belongs to bulbous flowering plants that are grown on lawns and used as bedding plants. These tiny plants can also adorn front doors, balcony, terrace and interiors when planted in smaller pots, planters, bowls and baskets.

The easy to grow, yet beautiful grape hyacinths prefer sunny sites, even though they tolerate partial shade in vicinity of trees and shrubs. They can grow in virtually every kind of garden soil, provided it is permeable, fertile and moderately moist. Plant grape hyacinth bulbs in autumn, 10 centimetres deep and allow for similar distances between the plants. They do not need to be excavated before the winter, this species is not sensitive to frost.

One package contains 10 bulbs of the 'Muscarimi' grape hyacinth, sized 8/9 centimetres in circumference. The basic growing instructions were printed on the package label.
