The Reine Charlotte belongs to green-leaved canna lily varieties that is characterized by red flowers with yellow edges. This 100 to 130 centimetres tall canna is a plant that you cannot miss. Canna lilies are decorative not only thanks to their flowers, but huge leaves too. The Reine Charlotte variety and its bright, sparkling clusters of flowers guarantees a true tropical flair in the garden and in planters. The lush inflorescence that develops from the bottom buds, consists of beautiful, asymmetric flowers. The pattern on the petals resembles randomly distributed splashes of paint. Their wonderfully contrasting colours may be used as a focal, unique point of a garden arrangement or an intriguing decoration of a cosy balcony.

Canna originates from warm climate zones and can therefore be grown in the garden or in planters. Do not plant earlier than mid-May. If you wish to admire the large, healthy, flowering plants earlier, plant rhizomes already in March, using pots in rooms for that purpose. Rhizomes placed in a fertile soil and regularly watered shall sprout fairly quickly. It is highly recommended to harden seedlings before planting them at the target site. Plant canna at a sunny, warm, and sheltered situation. Good quality, fertile and moist soil facilitates the growth of plants.

Store the fleshy canna rhizomes in a basement or other room where temperature remains stably within the 5 to 8?C range. Place the rhizomes, cleaned of soil and smaller roots, in containers and cover them with peat or sawdust. You can repeat the growing cycle for many years.

One package contains 1 first choice rhizome of the Reine Charlotte canna lily. Basic plant facts and growing instructions can be found on the package label.
