The "Soulman" anemone-flowered dahlia dazzles with crimson-pink flowers. They constitute the star ensemble for many gardeners, particularly during the second half of summer and in autumn. Their magnificent dark crimson colour and flower shape are exactly the features of the "Soulman" dahlia. The enchanting flowers with flat and broad verticils of outer petals and the shortened, gently twisting central petals will attract attention of every garden guest. Dark crimson blooms of the presented dahlia variety harmonize well with montbretia, eryngo, day lilies, red hot poker lily and taller sage cultivars. All plants with a light, airy habit prove to be a great background for this dahlia. Thanks to the extremely long flowering period this plant remains ornamental until end of autumn. The over 100 centimetres tall variety will decorate the front of your mansion planted singly or in larger groupings. The possibility to use dahlias in such a variety of ways is truly remarkable. Deep colours and unusual appearance of the "Soulman" variety allow you to welcome a true rarity in your garden.

Growing dahlias is easy. Excavating rootstock before the winter is the only more cumbersome part. Dahlia should be planted on sunny or only partially shaded situations. The appropriate exposition to sunlight is crucial for the healthy development and bright, saturated colour of the flowers. Due to the relatively substantial height and the frailty of the stems, we do not recommend growing dahlia on windy spots. Staking of the flower-carrying stems might be necessary. Dahlia requires neutral or slightly acidic soil that is rich in nutrients, permeable, and constantly moist. Tall, broadly growing varieties, such as Soulman should be planted 50 to 60 centimetres apart. Put the tuberous roots about 5 to 10 centimetres deep from April to June.  Dahlia requires watering during extended periods of drought. Its wilted flowers should be removed.  Dahlia reacts well to fertilization with manure, compost, and mineral fertilizers.

Dahlia roots stocks cannot winter in the ground and must be dug out in autumn. Trim the stem first and then gently excavate the rootstock. Store the rootstocks in ventilated open boxes in a dry place where the temperature is stabilized between 2 and 4?C. Cover the rootstock with sand or peat for even safer storage. If you detect loss of firmness or wrinkled surface on the rootstocks, you can moisten them slightly.

A single package contains 10 pieces of the premium quality rootstock of the Soulman dahlia. Basic plant growing instructions can be found on the package.
