Bold and full of energy, Dahlia 'Alyshia' delights with huge, fluffy flowers in vivid shades of pink and red. Their lightly glossy texture and dark purple buds give the plant remarkable depth. Over time, the petals naturally become paler, creating a beautiful, multi-dimensional effect. It works brilliantly planted in groups in a border and also as a decoration in a container.
Dahlia tubers are planted in spring. Plant them in the ground after the frosts have passed, usually from late April to May, once the soil has warmed up. Earlier cultivation is possible indoors, in pots placed in a bright position.
The dahlia tuber should be covered with a layer of soil about 5-7 cm thick. The buds should sit just below the surface of the growing medium.
Leave 40-50 cm between plants to give them room to develop and ensure good air circulation.
This variety reaches 80-100 cm, forming a distinct yet not overpowering feature in a border arrangement.
Flowers from July to October. Removing faded blooms encourages more buds to appear.
Dahlia does not overwinter in the ground. After the first frosts, the tubers should be lifted, cleaned and stored in a dry, cool place until the following spring.
Alyshia performs well in the middle of a border, where its intense colour can work beautifully with plants in lighter or cooler shades. It is also suitable as a cut flower - the full, compact flower heads hold their shape well in a vase.
We offer healthy, carefully selected dahlia tubers. Each batch is checked so that the planting material is in good condition. We provide efficient order processing and support if you have questions about cultivation.
