The Black Bean tulip is a late single variety that strikes with its unique dark colour. The almost black flowers create an unforgettable spectacle on spring borders. Dark crimson red and purple shades on petals of this variety always attract attention. Black Bean tulips are sought after by the collectors and constitute a real garden attraction. No wonder, there is not much flowers in that colour in nature. This tulip brings the best visual effects planted in larger groups. Its one-and-only colouring is best exposed in contrast. Black Bean flowers look the most stunning in company of white or pastel-coloured flowers. Presented variety grows about 55 centimetres tall. You can expect these intriguing flowers to unfold in May.

Tulip presented here does not differ from other plants of its species regarding cultivation requirements. To ensure the proper colouring of the flowers, you must provide it with the healthy dose of sunlight and nutrients. The reaction of the soil should be between 6.0 and 7.0 pH. Tulips prefer permeable, light, and moderately moist soils.

Planting tulips is a task that should be performed in autumn. Place bulbs in holes that are 12 to 15 centimetres deep, keeping them 10 to 15 centimetres apart. Bulbs will produce leaves in early spring. The foliage is quickly followed by stems with flowers. Taking care of tulips is virtually limited to weeding, watering, and fertilizing. Top the plants after the flowers have wilted. This measure strengthens bulbs and reduces the spreading of diseases. Plants enter the summer dormancy after their intensive growth and producing flowers. You can leave the bulbs in the ground but it is recommended to dig them out and plant again in autumn.

A single package contains 5 bulbs of the Black Bean tulip sized 10/11. Basic plant information and growing instructions can be found on the package.
