Hippeastrum – amaryllis – "Popov" is a magnificent variety that produces bicolour, white-red, XXL-sized blooms. This easy-to-grow, vigorous perennial is suited for cultivation in pots, where it blooms every couple of weeks, during winter, too. You may expect the first blooms after 6-8 weeks from planting the amaryllis bulbs. This variety that is on offer in our store grows 40-60 cm tall and sprouts erect, naked stems that end with 2 to 4 flowers towering over a tuft of linear leaves. The calyxes look like large, broadly open trumpets and consist of six large petals. White flowers of the "Popov" hippeastrum are decorated with contrasting red dots that only add to their charm.

In order for this plant to bloom exuberantly and long, you should provide it with a permeable, humous soil with a slightly acidic or neutral reaction. Any high quality flower soil would prove to be sufficient in pot cultivation. "Popov" amaryllis is undemanding in regard to the site – it blooms well both in the sun and in partial shade.
