The Orange cactus dahlia (Dahlia), a variety of the species our great-grandmothers used to called Georgina, is a miniature plant with narrow rolled petals. This easy-to-grow perennial is a perfect addition to flower beds, lawns, and planters. The variety that we offer here grows a compact, bushy tuft. Its large flowers that take on a bright orange colour, unfold in July and adorn the stems until first wave of cold in October.
Dahlias belong to heat loving plants and therefore cannot stand frost. That is also why they are planted outside late in spring and dug out in autumn to be stored indoors over the winter. Choose a light, fertile soil that is rich in humus and does not dry out too quickly during summer heat waves. Dahlias flower beautifully and abundantly in the sun and in partial shade. You can combine them with other varieties of their species or the reliably blooming annual plants with yellow, red, and brown flowers, such as the fiery marigolds, common sneezeweed, greenthread, and safflower.
Height: 30 to 40 cm.
A single package contains 50 large and healthy rootstocks of the orange cactus dahlia. You will find the essential plant growing instructions on every package.
