The Six Hills Giant catnip is an undemanding, vigorous perennial. Its raised shoots that are branched at the bottom, reach about 60 centimetres in height. The small, heart-shaped leaves that sit on short petioles have a nice grey-green colour. Leaf blade surface is wrinkled and covered with fine hairs. Gently notched edges of the leaves add to the overall charm of the plant. Catmint flowers are gathered in whorls atop stems. The characteristic, bilabial, funnel-shaped flowers consist of petals joint at the base. The variety offered here blooms from summer to autumn. Trimming the plant at the right time allows it to flower again. Catnip becomes more and more popular in gardens. You can spot it in parks and at public squares. It is suitable for planting in pots and boxes on a balcony or terrace. The distinct catnip scent repels flies and mosquitoes, but attracts beneficial insects. Bees, butterflies, bumblebees and moths eagerly use the pollen and nectar produced by blue flowers.

Catnip has low cultivation requirements. It requires a sunny position for proper development. It grows in any type of soil, except for very dry, heavy and waterlogged ground. Care is limited to removing of dried shoots in spring. Catnip rarely falls to diseases or gets attacked by pests. This hardy perennial grows back more abundantly each year.
