Siberian iris, sometimes called Siberian flag, is a perennial plant. The cute Reel Cute variety produces marvellous flowers that take on various shades of blue and purple with distinct yellow markings and darker venation. The erect, light green leaves form dense tufts. The outstanding, breath-taking flowers appear in groups of three to four on one stalk. A well-developed Reel Cute iris that has taken root on its site grows about 70 cm tall. This plant can be used in a variety of ways in the garden and in floristry. The unique character of the flowers fits many styles of garden design. The Reel Cute iris can become both a nice accent in a rustic garden on your allotment and a majestic plant of an imperial oriental garden.

A sheltered, sunny site where the soil is fertile, permeable, and moderately moist, is optimal for any Siberian iris, including the presented one. This species likes slightly acidic soils. You can bury rhizomes in the garden early in spring, late in summer, and at the beginning of autumn. You should take care of proper soil humidity and regular weeding at the beginning of cultivation. Mulching iris sites is considered good practice. Organic and mineral fertilizers with a reduced nitrogen content are recommended for this plant. After a few years at one site, we advise to regenerate the plants by dividing them into smaller tufts and planting on new sites. Siberian irises are hardy and winter in the garden without any problems.
