The Yellow Springgreen tulip (Tulipa viridiflora) represents a cultivar group that is relatively rarely found in gardens, despite their elegance and decorative properties. The variety offered here belongs to viridiflora group and produces single, large flowers that take on a shape of a cone that is rounded at the base and slender at the top. Petals with green accents are a characteristic feature of the viridiflora tulips, and in the case of the Yellow Springgreen variety, it creates an exceptionally decorative colour contrast. Pistacchio green, slightly blurrying streaks smoothly blend into the intense, bright lemon yellow. A fully open flower displays an interesting, yellow-green drawing at the bottom. This tulip, available now in our store, blooms late in May and deserves recognition for its unrivalled flowering persistence. You can admire its flowers for up to three weeks.

As a fairly tall variety (fifty centimetres/ twenty inches tall), the Yellow Springgreen tulip perfectly fits into the background of a bed arrangement or a lawn if you wish to plant a larger group of tulips. The site should be sunny, but a slightly shaded position allows to achieve good results too. Plant tulip bulbs in autumn, the later the better. The soil should be moderately fertile, humus-rich, well-drained, and sufficiently moist.
