The Multiflora Maxima begonia is a plant that produces double, attractive, bright yellow flowers. Its extraordinary beauty is worth displaying in most frequented, showcase places of the garden. Begonia is perfectly suited for container cultivation. A distinct spot in a bright colour that contrasts with dark green, heart-shaped, dentate leaves constitutes a perfect decoration for places of relaxation on a terrace or an atmospheric balcony. Tuberous begonias belong to few flowering plants that do not need direct sunlight. Thanks to this, you can rejuvenate and cheer-up spots with eastern and northern exposure with the colour that begonias provide with their long-term flowering. The offered Multiflora Maxima begonia grows 25 to 35-centimetres tall. Its shoots tend to bend slightly, which makes it look very picturesque.
Begonia is a plant of average requirements, and its cultivation is not difficult. Planting begonia tubers early in pots at home to move them outside later in spring allows you to speed up the flowering. Plants forced that way should produce first flowers already at the end of May. Begonia needs a semi-shaded place that is sheltered from the wind and warm. It thrives in permeable, loose soil that contains plenty of humus. Plant tubers every 25 to 30 centimetres, in shallow holes, covered with about 2-centimetres thick layer of soil. Throughout the growing season, make sure to keep the ground moderately moist and regularly feed plants with appropriate flowering plant fertilizers. Dig up tubers befroe the winter and store in a frost-protected room.
