The Montecito Dutch iris is a brand-new variety that has instantly won hearts of gardeners and florists. A reliable, easy-to-grow, and captivating iris belongs to tuberous plants. Charming, characteristically shaped, white-and-yellow flowers of the presented variety take the stage in early summer. One or two of four to five centimtres (about two inches) wide blooms sit atop slender, erect, forty-five to sixty centimetres (eighteen to twenty-four inches) tall stems. The narrow, white, inner are angled upwards, while the outer, wider, golden-yellow ones are angled to the stem. Lanceolate leaves of a Dutch iris shoot in tufts from underground bulbs, elegantly enhancing the beauty of the flowers. Montecito iris looks great at perennial borders and seasonal flower beds, both planted single and in larger groupings. Do not hesitate to grow iris in a pot or for cut flower.

Iris may start to flower in late April already, but the peak of their flowering power should be expected in May and June. Plant small bulbs of this species in well-drained, fertile soil, preferably enriched with organic fertilizer. Iris loves sunlight and warmth, but it can also thrive in partial shade. Use garden fleece or conifer twigs to cover iris site before the winter and help them survive it unharmed.

Each package contains ten bulbs of the Montecito iris. Basic plant facts and growing tips were printed on the package label.
