The pink-green 'Green Twister' coneflower is an ornamental perennial from the aster family. It develops magnificent bicolour pink-lime green flowers. The plant that reaches 80 to 120 cm in height develops dense tufts consisting of stiff and erect stems. Atop these stalks large flower heads appear. The plant produces two kinds of leaves, basal and stem leaves. The first category that forms rosettes is larger and more dentate. The whole plant is pubescent.
Coneflower blooms take on a characteristic shape and consist of two kinds of flowers. The disc flowers that are tightly packed in the centre form a spiky ball. It is surrounded by the ray flowers that constitute the main ornament of the plant as they combine two unusual colours. The dark pink gradually and smoothly changes into yellow green at the edges. This colouring can become a wonderful decoration of a flower bed, border and a pot arrangement. Coneflowers are also durable, charming cut flowers. The tall 'Green Twister' plants perfectly complement the natural and rustic arrangements as they flower from July to October. You should not forget about the environmental merit of this plant. They are eagerly visited by butterflies, bees and bumblebees and are melliferous. Removing of the wilted flowers stimulates the plants to produce more blooms.
The 'Green Twister' coneflower has limited cultivation requirements. This variety is recommended for sunny and partially shady sites with fertile, permeable, moderately moist soil. Coneflower seeds can be sown all year long in containers placed on windowsills in heated rooms. Direct sow to the beds in spring (April - June) or in autumn (September) is the most common growing method. The seedlings should grow 60 x 60 cm apart.
Coneflowers are popular medicinal plants and are used as a tonic and a body resistance booster. You can prepare a tea of leaves and flowers, that will help cure colds.

The quality control process
All our seeds must pass a four-stage quality control process.
Stage one begins with a careful selection of the suppliers. Than we proceed with controlling their crops, foreign producers are not excluded from the quality control process. Plants are checked at every stage of their development: when they start to grow, during blooming and when they start bearing fruit (seeds). At this stage the most important thing is to ensure proper spacing of the plants. Thanks to that obtaining the desired morphological characteristics of each particular species or variety, such as colour, height and shape, can be ensured.
Stage two consists of a detailed verification tests in laboratory conditions. With the use of the highest quality equipment by the highly qualified staff, our suppliers perform more than 30 000 quality checks annually. The seeds that do not meet our requirements are subject to technological refining processes, including drying, cleaning, upgrading and testing again.
Stage three starts with sowing seeds in selected control plots. That way we obtain valuable, exact information concerning their germination that must be maintained at an appropriate level. Simultaneously, the varietal identity of each species is checked at this stage.
Stage four takes place in our warehouses and consists of eliminating seeds that have been stored for too long on our shelves and replacing them with new batches. Each package is stamped with a unique batch number and also with the sow-by-date.
All four stages combined allow us to state with confidence that the seeds we deliver comply with the highest standards and have completed all required control stages with flying colours.

We provide help by sharing the accurate and up-to-date sowing and growing information, however, we cannot bear any responsibility for the plants that were not cultivated in conditions appropriate for given species.
