The Dama De Coeur large-flowered rose is a garden queen. It delights with deeply red flowers. The tea rose hybrid presented here bears large flowers that develop single or in small clusters on stiff, strong shoots. The flowering period of this cultivar begins in June and repeats in waves until the end of the season. Flowers owe their noble appearance to dense petals. Our rose grows about one metre tall. Its growth form is upright, erect. Rich, dense, dark green foliage wonderfully exposes the red colour of the blooms. Every shrub is rather thorny. This variety must be protected from fungal diseases, but belongs to hardy plants.
Grandiflora roses belong to the most versatile representatives of its species. They grow best on borders, flower beds, and lawn edges. Many gardeners treat roses as collectibles and plant them in a separated part of a garden, called rosary. They look great in company of seasonal and perennial flowering plants, ornamental shrubs, and even in an herbarium or planted next to larger vegetable plants. Dama De Coeur is recommended for planting in home gardens, rosaries, parks, and showcase spots. This rose type makes a perfect cut flower. It offers a great alternative to roses sold at florist shops.
Roses require some maintenance. They thrive in sandy-loam, humous soils, at sunny sites. Do not plant them too densely to allow the morning mist to dry quickly. Feed plants that you wish to use for cut flower growing with more mineral fertilizers. Do not fertilize them after mid-July.
Supply rose seedling with water before planting - it is best done by putting it into a larger container filled with water for several hours. Then, plant it in hole twice the size of the root ball. Cover it with soil, press firmly, and water abundantly. During the first few years of growing, we recommend protecting plants from the winter by covering it with a soil hill at the shoot base.
The offered rose seedling is packed in a bag that protects roots from drying.
