Courgette, with its variety of colours and flavours, is a true adornment for any garden. This selection of varieties offers fruits that will delight both in appearance and taste. Young courgettes feature a soft flesh and delicate, thin skin, making them an excellent choice to diversify daily meals. It is best to harvest them when they reach a length of 15-20 cm to enjoy their full flavour. With easy cultivation and high nutritional value, courgette is sure to become a staple in every green corner.
Sowing
Sowing courgette seeds is straightforward and does not require specialist skills. It is best to sow seeds directly into the ground or prepare seedlings in advance, which can be transplanted to a permanent location once the risk of frost has passed. This gives the plants a better start and faster development.
Sowing Depth
Courgette seeds should be sown at a depth of 2-4 cm. This depth allows for proper rooting and provides optimal growth conditions. It's important to ensure the soil is well-drained to facilitate germination.
Direct Sowing Period
When is the best time to sow courgette seeds directly into the ground? May is the optimal period, when the soil temperature is sufficiently high. It's advisable to wait until the risk of frost has passed to provide the plants with the best growing conditions.
Sowing Period Under Cover
When to sow courgette seeds under cover? You can start sowing as early as April, which accelerates plant development and allows for an earlier harvest. Under cover, seeds are protected from adverse weather conditions.
Planting Time
The best time to plant courgette seedlings is mid-May. During this period, the temperature is stable enough to encourage plant rooting and further growth.
Plant Spacing
When planting courgettes, maintain a spacing of 100 x 80-100 cm. This distance provides the plants with adequate space for growth and allows for free air circulation.
Site Conditions
Courgettes prefer sunny locations with well-drained and fertile soil. It is crucial to provide adequate moisture, which supports growth and fruiting. Good sunlight exposure is key to producing healthy and tasty fruits.
Growing Tips
Growing courgettes does not require much effort. Regular watering, especially during dry periods, and organic fertilisation will provide the plants with optimal growth conditions. It's beneficial to remove weeds to avoid competition for nutrients.
Harvest Period
The courgette harvest period is from July to September. It is best to pick the fruits regularly once they reach the appropriate size, which promotes further fruiting.
Good to Know
Courgette is a highly nutritious plant, rich in vitamins and minerals. Its fruits can be eaten raw, cooked, baked, or grilled, making it a versatile kitchen ingredient. Additionally, courgette is low in calories, making it an ideal addition to weight-loss diets.

The quality control process
All our seeds must pass a four-stage quality control process.
Stage one begins with a careful selection of the suppliers. Than we proceed with controlling their crops, foreign producers are not excluded from the quality control process. Plants are checked at every stage of their development: when they start to grow, during blooming and when they start bearing fruit (seeds). At this stage the most important thing is to ensure proper spacing of the plants. Thanks to that obtaining the desired morphological characteristics of each particular species or variety, such as colour, height and shape, can be ensured.
Stage two consists of a detailed verification tests in laboratory conditions. With the use of the highest quality equipment by the highly qualified staff, our suppliers perform more than 30 000 quality checks annually. The seeds that do not meet our requirements are subject to technological refining processes, including drying, cleaning, upgrading and testing again.
Stage three starts with sowing seeds in selected control plots. That way we obtain valuable, exact information concerning their germination that must be maintained at an appropriate level. Simultaneously, the varietal identity of each species is checked at this stage.
Stage four takes place in our warehouses and consists of eliminating seeds that have been stored for too long on our shelves and replacing them with new batches. Each package is stamped with a unique batch number and also with the sow-by-date.
All four stages combined allow us to state with confidence that the seeds we deliver comply with the highest standards and have completed all required control stages with flying colours.
