The Golden Day is a miniature tulip of extraordinary beauty. Similarly to other hybrids of the Greigii group, flowers of this variety take on a broad, bell shape and red and yellow colour. Mature plants of the offered variety grow to between twenty and forty centimetres tall. Like other tulips, they are most decorative at the peak of the flowering period, when the petals open wide to reveal their interior. Golden Day tulips come with decorative foliage. Their broad, wavy leaves are decorated with a pattern of irregular dots, stripes, streaks, and flecks. The maroon or brown colour of the pattern is clearly visible on the background of grey-green leaf blades. You can grow this cute, low tulip in groups on flower beds, borders, and in rock gardens. It will also thrive in pots, boxes, bowls and baskets.

Greigii Tulips of the Golden Day variety, just like all of its relatives, belong to sun-loving plants. Still, few hours spent in the shade will not hurt them. Prepare the planting site in advance: loosen and weed the soil, as well as remove larger stones. Adding finely ground compost that will provide bulbs with necessary nutrients is also recommended. Adding some sand at the planting site makes the soil lighter and allows bulbs to sprout more easily. Avoiding planting bulb flowers in waterlogged, acidic, and heavy soil. Dry and meagre soil should also be avoided. We recommend using special planting baskets that bring additional protection against voles. Tulips can grow on the same site for several years.
