The Strawberry Event lily immediately attracts attention with its unique bicolour flowers. Their fiery red colour is adorned with dark purple spots, freckles, and stripes. These elegant large flowers are slightly bent down. First buds develop at the beginning of August on stiff, long stems that can grow even 80 to 90 centimetres tall. Flowers that attract butterflies and bees constitute a magnificent decoration of perennial flower beds, large pots and vases. The marvellous Strawberry Event lily is worth inviting to the showcase spot of your garden.

Tiger lilies are easy to grow, ensure stunning visual effects, and bloom long and reliably. A tiger lily develops an erect, straight, single stem that is covered with lanceolate leaves. The entire, shiny leaf blades add an elegant touch to the plant. Flowers, from five to twenty, unfold at the top of the stem. The six-petal cups take on a bright colour and a characteristic shape. Petals that are reflexed (bent backwards) are decorated with clearly visible dark spots that resembles the marking of a tiger.

Bulbs of tiger lilies should be planted 10 to 15 centimetres deep and 25 to 30 centimetres apart. Autumn is the optimal planting time, though you can enrich the garden with them in spring too. Lilies require a highly permeable soil. Heavy or clay soil would be inappropriate as they might cause the bulbs to rot. A permeable, moderately moist soil with a pH close to neutral or slightly acidic, guarantees best results. Sheltering plants from strong wind is recommended as their stems and flower can easily be damaged. Tiger lilies, like their other lily relatives, prefer sunny situations. Partial shade will not do them much harm either. Lily as a species is resistant to diseases and only seldom gets infested by pests. It is winter hardy - it can be grown successfully on the same site for several years. There is not much tending needed when growing tiger lilies. The most important gardener's tasks are: organic fertilizing, watering during drought, mulching, weeding, and topping of the wilted flowers.
