Bicolour caladium, also known as elephant ear, "Cardinal" (Caladium bicolor) is an extraordinarily ornamental plant that is commonly grown in pots and greenhouses. It owes its great popularity to the ornamental foliage that takes on different colours. The "Cardinal" variety develops large, heart-shaped, elongated leaves. Their centres take on a carmine-red colour that turns into bright green at the edges. This ornamental perennial plant may be used for decorating interiors, but can also be spotted in greenhouses and terrariums.
End of winter presents the best time for planting caladium tubers into pots. A universal garden soil, rich in humus, retaining humidity, would suit this purpose best. You should also take care of the proper drainage. Place the pots in a bright place, even though the plants tolerate partial shade. Do not forget to water and fertilize the plants regularly during the intensive growth stage. Caladium enters dormancy in winter, hence you need to dig out the tubers and store them in a warm and airy place.
Each package contains 10 tuber of the pink-green "Cardinal" caladium - elephant ear. The most important growing instructions have been printed on each package.
