The very early carrot "Kalina F1" (Daucus carrota) is a variety that produces large, up to 20 cm long, intensely orange coloured roots with a regular, cylindrical shape, in a record-breaking time thanks to its extremely short vegetation period. Due to the high sugar and carotene content and excellent taste of the crunchy, juicy fruit flesh, "Kalina F1" roots are recommended for direct consumption and processing to juices, purees, pies and other preserves. They contain large quantities of vitamin A, vitamins B1, B2, C and PP, as well as calcium, iron and other minerals.
The variety presented here belongs to F1 hybrid cultivars, meaning the first generation hybrids. Its origins translate to improved productivity, health and resistance. In order to be able to harvest large numbers of nicely developed roots, carrot seeds need to be sown on sunny sites in medium compact, permeable and fertile, possibly sandy-clay soil. Slightly acidic or slightly alkaline reaction of the soil favours root development. Crops from spring sow are harvested end of May / beginning of June.
Each package contains 5 of "Kalina F1" carrot seeds. Package information contains a growing guide and the sow-by date.
