The "Aleksandra" tall duchess aster is a wonderful variety with large flowers, recommended for flower beds, borders, as well as for bouquets as a cut flower. They reach 60-80 cm in height. The erect stem with several branches are covered with attractively looking foliage. Large inflorescences develop at the tops of the stems. They are creamy-white on the edges and become more intensely yellow towards the centre of the flower. They look truly phenomenal. Asters belong to the irreplaceable garden flowers due to their very long flowering period. They can even be grown on a border as "spare parts" and fill the gaps left by the wilted summer flowers. The "Aleksandra" variety does not differ from other asters in that regard. Its flowers can be admired from July to October and even longer in favourable weather conditions.

Aster "Aleksandra" is recommended for the late spring sowing onto heated hotbeds. The well-developed seedlings can be pricked out into small pots and then transferred to the permanent site after the last spring frosts. You can also try direct sow in April-May. Asters thrive in sunny positions. They have no high requirements in regard to the soil. It only needs to be moderately moist and fertile. Asters respond well to fertilization. Removing wilted inflorescences belongs to good gardening practice. This measure strengthens the blooms and extends the flowering period
