Duchess asters are truly amazing flowers. Asters enjoy constant popularity and the "Blask" variety presented here deserves special recognition. Tall plants take on a semi-shrub habit, consisting of erect shoots, atop which marvellous flower heads develop. A specific build of the inflorescence is characteristic for duchess asters. Ray flowers form the base, while the middle is densely packed with tubular disc flowers, combining into a rich and elegantly looking bloom. The "Blask" variety produces raspberry-pink flowers, that take beautiful, deep colour. Due to their beautiful appearance and the fact that colourful aster bouquets retain a fresh look in vases for a long time, they are recommended for cut flowers. Asters also belong to the most attractive border plants, especially when taking into account that they bloom a little later in the season, when other species are no longer in the foreground. They are perfectly suited for larger compositions or single-species groupings of differently coloured and shaped varieties.

Asters should be grown from seedlings. Seeds are sown in spring. You may start to produce seedlings already in March and April. Young plants need to be pricked out after the emergence in order to strengthen their root systems. Transfer them to the permanent site in May. Recommended spacing is 20 x 40 cm. Asters prefer sunny sites. It is preferable to transfer seedlings with the entire root systems in a soil lump, in order to limit possible damage to a minimum. Nevertheless, the plants do well after transplanting. They grow on many types of soil, yet prefer fertile and moderately moist soils.

The package contains 1 g of "Blask" tall duchess aster seeds. Package information contains a growing guide and the sow-by date.
