The "Alfresco" Hippeastrum, amaryllis is a stunning variety that develops snow white flowers.

Its marvellous double flowers develop on stems in small groups. Each flower measures about 15 centimetres in diameter. Blooms develop gradually and the plants retain their ornamental value for a long time. The flowering stalks grow 50 to 60 centimetres tall. Hippeastrum flowers from six to eight weeks after planting of the bulbs. "Alfresco" amaryllis is an exceptionally decorative pot plant that can also be grown for cut flowers.

Hippeastrum bulbs should be planted in a light, permeable soil. Make sure that one third of the planted bulb stays above the ground.

Amaryllis should be grown indoors on a sunny or partially shady situation. Regularly water and feed the plants with a multicomponent fertilizer. After the flowers have wilted reduce watering in order to let the plants enter dormancy state. As soon as the leaves wilt, prune them, and transfer the pot to a dry and cool place. You can also dig out the bulb and store it in dry peat. The dormancy stage should last from four to six weeks.

Each package contains 1 bulb of the "Alfresco" hippeastrum, amaryllis sized 24 to 26 centimetres in circumference. The most important plant growing instructions were included in the product description on the package.
