The monogerm 'Sirius' fodder beet is a heterotic hybrid that develops white roots. It is productive and tolerant to such diseases as cercospora leaf spot and viral icterus. The soil does not stick to the roots. The root holes are shallow. This beet brings satisfying crops even on lesser soils. It tolerates periodical draughts. It is immersed in the soil up to 55%. Presented variety is suitable for mechanical harvest. The 'Sirius' variety bears rich yield of roots and foliage. The latter is a valuable green fodder. The coated seeds offered here are intended for single-grain sowing. They stand out with a high germination rate and excellent seedling vigour.

Fodder beet constitute valued food for various farm animals. Its roots and leaves are fed to cattle, pigs, horses, sheep, goats and poultry. Animals eat them eagerly, as they have high nutritional and energetical value. The juicy and dietetic fodder beet improve milk quality and increase its protein and fat content. Pigs fed with beets will provide you with delicious, lean meat, while the hens will lay more eggs.

Fodder beet seeds should be sown after the sugar beet as they are sensitive to low temperatures. The delayed sowing improves the volume and quality of the crops. In regions of extended vegetation period the sowing should take place in the second and third decade of April when the soil temperature exceeds 6⁰C. Sow at the beginning of May in regions where the spring comes later.

Seeding rate: 4-6 kg/ha, when sowing 18 to 20 centimetres apart, allowing for 42 to 45 centimetres between the rows. The assumed germination rate is 85%.
