Alfalfa - Eugenia - Medicago sativa - 0,5 kg - Ideal for Silage, Green Manure & Dryland Farming - Fresh Seeds

Alfalfa Eugenia (Medicago sativa) is a highly valuable cultivar originating from Italy. It is characterised by a strong adaptability to various growing conditions, making it suitable for cultivation across diverse soil types. The plants develop a robust root system, with upright stems densely covered in leaves. They produce abundant yields of high-quality forage rich in protein, mineral salts, and vitamins, and regenerate quickly after mowing. This species is one of the most important plants cultivated for green fodder and silage production. The crop residues left in the field after harvesting serve as a high-value green manure.

Growing Conditions and Cultivation

Alfalfa Eugenia thrives best in warm, dry, and sunlit locations. It yields the highest harvests on good-quality, fertile, moderately moist, loose, and deeply tilled soils. The cultivar exhibits high frost resistance; however, spring frosts may damage delicate seedlings. Seeds are typically sown at the beginning of spring. The seeding rate for pure stands is approximately 20-25 kg per hectare. Due to its high regenerative capacity and rapid regrowth, this variety can be harvested up to four times per year.

Seed Packaging and Usage

The package contains 0.5 kg of Eugenia alfalfa seeds. The seed packet includes information regarding the sowing period and seed viability.
